Hand grenades can be found in every mission, while it's rare to find an actual hand grenade pickup almost any guard can pull a grenade and throw it at Bond. Grenades are difficult weapons to use as they have a timed fuse, Bond has to anticipate where his target will be when the grenade explodes. For this reason grenades are much more useful against stationary targets, guards won't react to a grenade being thrown at them unless they also see Bond.

• If a guard is killed before he pulls the pin on his grenade he will drop the grenade as a pickup. Usually guards pull out grenades when on Secret Agent or 00 Agent levels.

• If a guard is shot before he pulls the pin on his grenade he will hold onto it until he is killed. The grenade can be shot while it's still in his hand to cause it to explode.

• Pressing and holding the fire button acts as if the grenade's pin was pulled. Bond can then hold onto it for a short time before throwing and have it detonate much faster after landing. One should be careful while doing this, however, as the grenade will explode if it's held for too long.

• In the Facility level, a Scientist may pull out a grenade and throw it towards Bond. If shot twice on the Secret Agent or 00 Agent level, the Scientist will pull out a DD44 Dostovei and frequently will unpin grenades and throw them.
