Laser (Attachment) (Laser Pointer in Reloaded) is a weapon attachment found on pistols, SMGs, assault rifles and sniper rifles in GoldenEye 007 (Wii) and GoldenEye 007: Reloaded.

Background[]

The Laser accessory adds a visible red laser to the weapon, indicating the point of aim and replacing the weapon's standard crosshair. The laser is only visible when firing from the hip, and has no effect on the weapon's ADS accuracy. Shots fired from the hip with a Laser equipped will always hit precisely where the laser is pointed rather than scattering within the bounds of the weapon's reticle, meaning the weapon becomes more accurate with this attachment equipped.

The Wii version usually shows assault rifle lasers as small cylindrical devices mounted on the weapon's forend, while Reloaded tends to use an AN/PEQ-5 unit mounted to one of the weapon's accessory rails.

In general this attachment is particularly useful when combined with motion control, since it allows fine aim without using iron sights.

Campaign Mode[]

Lasers are relatively rare in both the Wii version and Reloaded, with only a handful of levels featuring them. Where available on pistols they are perfect for breaching sections, since they do not require the slow transition to ADS before firing.

The laser effect is also applied to NPC sniper rifles so that the player can tell where the sniper is aiming, though if picked up these weapons do not actually have a laser accessory. A targeting laser is also used to indicate the current aim point and allegence of drone guns.

Multiplayer[]

In heroes, during online multiplayer, Alec Trevelyan has a Vargen FH-7 with a laser attached.

The laser is the 3rd attachment unlocked on online multiplayer and is the only attachment that improves hip fire accuracy

The laser can be used on sniper rifles in online multiplayer in order to have greater accuracy when firing from the hip.
